This is the main plaza in Todos Santos, which they were finishing
constructing up to the last day before the festival.
The plaza from floor level.
A Guatemalan ferris wheel. I don't know how safe it was, but we rode it
anyway. The ferris wheel was turned by a tractor engine that someone had
to sit and drive while it was working.
They were having traditional dances right below the ferris wheel in the square.

Notice what a couple of the dancers are holding.
Me with a couple friends, Bengtzon and Tami.
Robert and I did some performing in the street for fun.
This is a line of locals watching us from the plaza above.
We had an accompanying band with drums and a didgeridoo.
The horse races consisted of racing to one end of the track, take a drink,
and then race back. By the afternoon, the racers were so drunk they could
barely stay on their horses.
The race track.
Notice the second guy is leaning way back because he's so drunk.
For something like $1.25, anyone could rent a horse to do one lap. I
had no experience riding horses, but decided to do it anyway. It was
extremely intense. This is a misty photo, but I can barely be seen as
the non-native.
Spectators watching the races. Notice the typical clothing: red pants,
bluish shirt, and the hat.
The day after the horse races is the Day of the Dead, where people go
to the graves of their loved ones and have a big party.
